Wednesday Smiles
Perfect Imperfections - unexpectedbox
only_more_love
It's alive!  (Well, I am, anyway.)  I'm hoping to begin getting caught up on comments, cards, friend requests, etc. starting tomorrow.  My goal is to be done by the time the baby's born, at which point I'll proceed to get behind again.  *g*  So if you haven't heard from me re: any of the above, I pinky-swear that I'm just behind; I'm not deliberately ignoring anyone.

Hugs and smiles all around, folks.  And stay warm!

I mostly post fannish things in this journal, but I think it's easy to forget that there is a real person behind the fic and the Bones commentary. Same goes for other people, of course. So I'd like to take a minute to acknowledge our humanity.

If you'd like to do so, please tell me something that made you smile this week, no matter how small. Could be the snuggle your dog gave you on Monday, the song you discovered on Tuesday, or the way your significant other smiled at you today. I've been posting these since last December. If you feel up to it, please respond—here, in your own journal, or elsewhere. Feel free to post more than one thing and/or respond to other comments.

Why am I doing this? Because I think it is far too easy to get caught up in the stresses, big and small, that we all experience. Being able to focus on one positive thing, however small, can give one a valuable sense of perspective.

Why Wednesday? I figure a little mid-week cheer can't hurt. :)

YAY! That right there put a smile on my face, hon! So good to hear from you!

Another smile - I've lost five pounds the last two weeks - yay me!

Wow! *applauds and looks guiltily at chocolate*

*eats bertie's chocolate while she's busy looking at it* ;)

Hiya, Space! *smooch* I hope everything's going well for you, J., and the kids. I'll have to check your LJ to see if you've posted recent pics. :)

Hon, that's awesome. Go, you!

Yay! She lives! lol. And no worries. We know you're busy busy busy getting ready for the little one :)

My smile: CSI:NY is back tonight.

Hi, sweets. Hope your holidays/winter break were fun and relaxing. And yes, I definitely have baby on the brain. *g*

My smile: CSI:NY is back tonight.

Woot! I hope you enjoyed the epi. :)

- Florida finally getting some cool weather!
- Got to see a movie with a friend today
- Baking cookies this weekend, mmm

Good job with all the preparations, no worries getting behind on online life, we all know what your real life priority is and we wish you luck!

Thank you very much. :)

And all your smiles sound wonderful. Hope the cookies turned out nice and tasty. What movie did you watch, if you don't mind my asking?

I don't mind at all, we saw 'Revolutionary Road'

:)

smile for the day- actually getting a ton of work done! =)

Good for you. :) Gotta love those super productive days.

Smiles today: This post! Oh, and that I didn't kill myself doing yoga this morning.

Great to hear from you especially since you're probably crazy busy getting ready for baby :) You stay warm, too; it's downright frigid out there!

Hey, you. :) It's good to "see" you. I know I've missed a bunch of your posts. Yeah, I have baby on the brain, for sure. *g*

Seems like a lot of us had some really cold weather recently. *shivers & dreams of spring* I know it's too early yet, but I'm looking forward to wearing short sleeves instead of coats and gloves!

She is alive!

This week I don't have a lot to smile about. A classmate at school committed suicide this past week so our school has been in mourning. I am just glad my school as a community is together for this event.

Your icon is killing me. *g*

Yep, I've been scarce here, but I am definitely alive, thankfully. :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your classmate. That's just awful news. I hope you, your classmates, and that poor student's family are able to come to grips with her death in whatever way is healthy and appropriate for you all.

I'm so glad to see you hanging here! *squishes you*
This was my Tuesday smilehere...they weren't quite as amausing today...stickier though!

Hi, binkii. *smooch* (I know that's not your name, but I still think it's adorable.)

Your Tuesday smile made ME smile, especially the one about the one about M and the finger that should never, ever be pointed. *g* Thanks for sharing, my dear.

(I know that's not your name, but I still think it's adorable.) *grin*

It was my nick name when I was little, and my husband still calls me that, so I answer to it all the time!

It just makes me smile to know you're still alive. Don't worry for us, we'll still be here whenever you come back! :)

*hugs* That's so sweet, Sofi. Thank you, honey. And your icon is very smile-worthy. :)

I'm glad the icon made you smile :)

Hearing from you made me smile :)

My husband taking the day off to look after Joe, who was feeling poorly yesterday, made me smile. They had 'Boy's Club' all day and played X Box and vegged out. Awwws!

*smoochies, sweetie pie* It is so lovely to see your name, icon, and comment pop up.

Awwww... Yay for good dads & husbands and sweet little boys who grow up too fast, I'm sure. BTW, Boy's Club sounds just delightful. *g*

Hey there babe, missed you ♥ so happy to hear from you! Sending all my love to you and your family xxxx

My smile will be tomorrow when I get rid of this heavy heart monitor =]

Thank you, sweetheart, for all your warm wishes. :) They are much appreciated, especially when I see that you are dealing with lots. Hang in there. I really admire your grace and your strength. It is not easy to stay positive in the face of adversity, but you are doing it. *hugs and good thoughts for you*

Yay! You're alive! *happy dance*

Um, smiles... Slightly random, but one of the US exchange students hit on me yesterday which, while mildly awkward, made me feel a little less repulsive after burying my head in books all week. :)

Oh, good god. Your icon is killing me. *pets* Thanks for the smile. And yes, despite all evidence to the contrary, I am alive. How have YOU been, sweets? I will be trundling on over to your LJ to see what has been happening in Bertie-land of late.

My smiles this week: actually, this week was a pretty crappy week in terms of emotional health but in the spirit of things I will find some smiles.

*my mom calling me every day, just to say hi.
*my boyfriends roommates taking me under their wing since he's gone for two more weeks.
*finding a really great calender for work, finally one I picked out, not a free one my boss picked up from somewhere
*and yeah, Florida finally getting some cold weather. Go us.

And, now, this comment, making me feel better about the state of things. Time to get back in the saddle and remember how resilient I am.

Good for you. Some days/weeks/months, it's harder to scrounge up things to smile about, but I think that's when I especially need to do it. I can't speak for anyone else, of course. I hope this week will find things moving along more smoothly for you.

There she is!

So good to "see" you!

And that was me. Sorry.

No problem, D. :) It's good to see you too, honey. I have to check your journal and see what you've been up to. I hope you're happy and healthy!

:o)

I am happy (a bit ecstatic, actually) and I am healthy. :o)

I got jumped out of the writing contest yesterday, but I'll live.

I'm smiling because today is my birthday and my wedding anniversary. The duo-day's a family tradition.....

I'm smiling because The Daughter will be here on Saturday to cook for me and spend the entire day "playing" with Mom. :-)

I'm smiling because it's snowing blizzardly outside and I'm inside, enjoying it and a cup of hot cocoa.

I'm smiling because everything's going well with the indexing and because the proofing is done.

I'm smiling because I have online friends like you.

How lovely that your birthday and your wedding anniversary fall on the same day! Congratulations -- on both counts. :) *hugs* How many years have you and your DH been together, if you don't mind my asking?

Your smiles always make me smile; thank you for sharing them. I especially love hearing about your time with your daughter. Hope you had a fantastic time. And I still can't wait to read your book!!!!!!!

I'm smiling because I have online friends like you.

Oh, no fair, making the pregnant lady cry. *hugs you*
