Wednesday Smiles

My smile:

One day I will relearn the definition of sleep.

I mostly post fannish things in this journal, but I think it's easy to forget that there is a real person behind the fic and the Bones commentary. Same goes for other people, of course. So I'd like to take a minute to acknowledge our humanity.

If you'd like to do so, please tell me something that made you smile this week, no matter how small. Could be the snuggle your dog gave you on Monday, the song you discovered on Tuesday, or the way your significant other smiled at you today. I've been posting these since last December. If you feel up to it, please respond—here, in your own journal, or elsewhere. Feel free to post more than one thing and/or respond to other comments.

Why am I doing this? Because I think it is far too easy to get caught up in the stresses, big and small, that we all experience. Being able to focus on one positive thing, however small, can give one a valuable sense of perspective.

Why Wednesday? I figure a little mid-week cheer can't hurt. :)

:D and you will, i promise!
I've had a crappy day so far today... so if i think of something, i'll come back. lol

I'm sorry your day has been crappy! *hugs you*

thanks hon - *hugs back*
it got better! :)

Look, we are all icon twinny! *grn*

*seconds the sorry with more hugs* ♥

aw, thx you! *hugs back*
and it improved! :)

BACK! And we just got back from a wonderful time in the park... enjoying beautiful weather def makes me smile.
Also, I had a wonderful convo with a friend this afternoon that has really given me a lot to think about... so smiles on that one too.

Pshaw, sleep. It's just a luxury.

My smile: a movie I was very much looking forward to turned out to be quite good!

Aww, does this new definition include the phrase 'less is more'? I have a suspicion it might...

My smile: It's gorgeous here and I just sat outside writing for two hours.

Sleep is never exactly the same once you have kiddos! But tbey are sooo worth it! I hope you and your little one are doing well!

We're on spring break here, and I'm enjoying the time off of school with my younger kiddos and having college girl home for a bit!

S friend came back from her vacations yesterday and told me: "I wished I had a Sofi in every place of the world I went." That totally made me smile. I missed her too (:

I see that even though you are not getting any sleep you still remain happy and psitive -Well, who wouldn't with a lovely baby in the house?- That's great.

The sun is shining :)

-Weather is sunny and warm.
-I don't have to work tomorrow nor Friday. March 19 is father's day here.
-Plans with friends for Easter.

Enjoy every minute of your sleeping and non-sleeping time!!

I wore shoes and went to a supermarket. This was smile worthy because I haven't done either thing since January.

Hot cross buns.

The sun has been out two days running.

I am loving The Big Bang Theory like whoa. It makes me laugh and chortle and cough and is fun as anything.

I'm actually CAUGHT UP on my grading. I still have more stuff to grade, but none of it is behind/late. I'm VERY proud and pleased.

I've had several wonderful, comfy, loving chats with my kids in the past two days, and it has felt great.

I am loving The Big Bang Theory like whoa. It makes me laugh and chortle and cough and is fun as anything.

ME TOO!! I've just discovered it a couple weeks ago, and I'm only at 1x11 (which is my fav so far), but I'm enjoying like a little kid enjoys candy.

Johnny Galecki and Sara Gilbert are just 'aawwwwwwwwww'. I find it cute that they're working together again after all these years.

Who did he used to be that he worked with her?

They were together in Roseanne. Sara as Darlene and Johnny as her boyfriend. ;)

I wonder if we'll wake Lerdo up with this spammy replies. ;)

WAIT...he was the kid Roseanne made "get down on your knees and THANK us for being so cool about this. ...See how LOW pot has brought you?"

I don't remember that, but I wish. :)

I *so* need to re-watch that show.

It was the episode where Roseanne found a baggie of pot and they thought it was David's, and he took the dressing down to cover for Darlene (who wasn't living there) because he thought it was hers, and after they finished with the scene I described above, John Goodman told Roseanne that it was THEIR pot and he'd not been able to flush it--and fully give up his youth--when she got they smoke it out of nostalgia and find it just...not fun.

Just looked it up: S6x05 "A Stash From the Past." Right at the beginning of this clip, you can see the kitchen scene with David.

Thing of beauty. I can't believe that's the same guy...till I look at him and, well, clearly...

Husband pointed out Laurie Metcalf to me as Sheldon's mom; I hadn't recognized her. It seems to be Old Home Week for Roseanne alums.

I'm actually CAUGHT UP on my grading. I still have more stuff to grade, but none of it is behind/late. I'm VERY proud and pleased. This one of the big perks in teaching pre-k now instead of older kiddos the way I use too! No papers to grade! *happy dances*

Course, the downside is that you have a bunch of little kids....

Terrifying nightmare: a room full of kids under the age of 12.

I spent the afternoon with my daddy, it's been far too long since this happened.

well, i just had a nice day in general......

i have my favorite teacher again, and he is making my life bright, shiny, and full of joy. except his home work is extremely time consuming, but whatever.

spike. is. the. best.

and that last bones episode, with the strip club, and the car, and the fabulosity. yes.

WASL week!!! Basically, one of those standardized tests that really only measures if you can actually take a test, and all the sophmores have to take it, so everyone else gets to sleep in and have less school!!! :)

Hope you're well despite the lack of sleep *hugs* :)

My smile?

I'm married 30 years today.

That is awesome!!!! Congratulations!

I'm thankful for your presence, as always. :-)

I'm thankful you have your lovely, lovely, baby girl.

I'm thankful that my girl (The Daughter) is doing well.

I'm thankful that The Husband had dinner half-cooked when I arrived home.

I'm thankful that I'm feeling well, too.
