Wednesday Smiles
L'ecrivez
only_more_love
I mostly post fannish things in this journal, but I think it's easy to forget that there is a real person behind the fic and the squeeing over Bones.  Same goes for other people, of course.   So I'd like to take a minute to acknowledge our humanity.

Please tell me something that made you smile this week, no matter how small.  Could be the snuggle your dog gave you on Monday, the song you discovered on Tuesday, or the way your significant other smiled at you today.  I'm going to try to post this every Wednesday for myself, and if you feel up to it, please respond—here, in your own journal, or elsewhere.   Feel free to post more than one thing and/or respond to other comments.

Why am I doing this?  Because I think it is far too easy to get caught up in the stresses, big and small, that we all experience.   Being able to focus on one positive thing, however small, can give one a valuable sense of perspective.

Why Wednesday?  I figure a little mid-week cheer can't hurt.  :)

If you feel weird about doing this in public, please comment anonymously.  I'm setting this entry to screen anon comments; I won't unscreen any anon comments unless you give me permission.  And please feel free to comment even if we're not "friends."

I'll be back with my response.

P.S.
I don't always get a chance to respond to all your smiles, but I read every single one.  They all leave me feeling a little bit lighter than I did before.  So thank you!  I hope you're all having a good week, my friends, and if you're not, I hope it improves.

ooh, first for a change?

What makes me smile is the fact that it's BASEBALL SEASON! Spring is officially here and, at least until approximately 3PM this afternoon, my beloved Royals are in first place in the AL Central.

1. Might be going to visit family in California next week.
2. Road trip last weekend with friends. My friends were cool - but a few of the other Toronto FC fans weren't.
3. Spring-like weather. Finally!

Well, today is a reverse minimum day at my school, which means that we don't get in until 10 today, and still get out at our regular time of 2:30.

Also, I've been reading a lot of GREAT fics lately.

1. I was super stressed out about an exam and then my Zune randomly played "Beautiful World" by Colin Hay. I felt all the stress leaving me in one giant smile. Sometimes the world works in mysterious ways. ;o)

2. My friends and I played an awesome prank on another friend - and to further add to my glory I got him again but then took pity on him as it was past midnight already. He was a good sport about it though.

1. Been doing some serious online 'window' shopping for a dress for my mum's wedding this June :)
2. Finally getting new cat this week - she's a sweetie!
3. Doctor Who starts again this week!!

edited to fix horrid coding error! sorry...

That you like to know what makes us smile makes me smile, too. Thank you for this.

~~I had a productive April Fool's day, prank-wise -- I haven't pranked in years, and it felt great. First, I left this graphic on TJ Thyne's myspace page. And then I did the Seeley/HoCaine graphic from hell on mine.

~~For the first time in months, I'm actually inspired to write. I woke up this morning singing 'Your Sweet and Shiny Eyes' -- an old Bonnie Raitt song -- and it furred up a Booth/Hodgins gen/friendship bunny.

Lots of reasons to smile. Thanks for giving us a place to share them! ♥

1)Battlestar Galactica FINALLY comes back this Friday!
2)I reconnected with an old friend this week. Nothing like talking to someone you haven't seen in years to show yourself how much you've changed.
3)My muse came back and I'm writing again! Yay!

1. Your header. It's so fun!!! xD
2. I had a great weekend, with friends, sun, fresh air, field… We ate in the open air and we talked and laughed.

Besos

1: that hopefully i have even more to smile about next Wednesday
2: Boyfriend is flying home from New York later today
3: tiny purple socks sitting on the desk infront of me.

last night, one of my oldest friends called out of the blue (after i'd been thinking about him no less), and invited me to come have dinner and go to trivia night at a local bar. that was more than a little smile inducing!

and this is a lovely idea!

- It's been raining for some days and I've been able to wear my colorful Wellington boots, which I adore.

- I bought the same exact t-shirt for me and for my niece. She looked at them like OMG. It's Penelope Pitstop on it. :)

- 'What would happen if we kissed' had an awesome update some days ago. ::whistles::

- This scene from 'How I met your mother'. No matter how many times I watch it, it's hilarious.

Have a great week. :)

And this is totally off-topic, but every time I hear/someone mentions 'Walking after you' by the Foo Fighters, I think of Mulder and Scully. The fact that it was featured in the movie soundtrack may have something to do with it. ;)

3. Battlestar Gaactica, because it's seriously eating my brain right now
4. The sun rose today, I'm alive, my family's doing well and all the people I love are okay. Which makes it an excellent day.
5. I seem to be in an unnaturally cheerful mood today, no clue why but I like it *hugs*

Wow, reading what made everyone smile today made me feel good!
I had my last Poetry class today, my last English class, my last Canadian History class. It really feels like the end is here.
The sun came out and the snow's melting!!
