As an American, as a human being,I am so proud.  My heart is full.

Yes, we can.

we are at the start of a new direction for our country and I am so HAPPY!

"And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘ Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA."

OMG...that was the first thing that popped into my head as well!

I'm so pumped I can't sleep and I have a plane to catch in like 9 hours!

*g* I imagine there are a lot of people who felt/feel like that.

I was glued to the TV all night and I can tell you that most Canadians, at least all the ones that I know, are more than please with the results.

And I echo your sentiment. YES WE CAN.

I am so happy! Obama's speech was amazing! ♥

I really wish I was old enough to vote this time (3 months too young!), but I am extremely proud/happy with the results.

His speech was beautiful. ♥

:) I'm sure you'll have many, many elections to vote in. *hugs*

Let me just say... as a Dane and there by not American and thus without any say in this: THANK YOU!

The last 8 years have not been a joy for the rest of us either(my brother have already served in Iraq and is now thinking about Afghanistan too), and I really hope that this is the change we ALL need.

The historian in my is having a field day - who knows maybe the next time you will even not be scared to elect a woman...

There is no question that what America does affects the world -- and vice versa. This is a global community, and we aren't isolated little islands.

Today is a good day.

We're witnessing such an incredible thing. I couldn't wait to get up this morning and switch on the news.

I'm so excited for America and the world *celebratory hugs*

*dances along with you* Here's to the return of some measure of sanity.

We've forgotten what it means to have a leader like this. I consider myself truly blessed to live in this country and to be able to call him my President. In the words of Langston Hughes, let America be America again.

I agree. This is an amazing moment for ALL of us.

I'm so glad that everything went the way it did, i'd been saying to my parents for weeks, that if Obama didn't win, then the world was truly fudged.

congrats guys, its not only a win for the US, its also a win for the world :)

Here's to the return of some measure of sanity! :)

Am uttrely thrilled, energised and excited. I did the dance of joy when I turned on the radio this morning....

God bless the USA - your future is so exciting and bright!

We need a steady hand; I think we got it. ♥

Congratulations :D You have chosen the best.

It's great news, isn't it! I was so pleased when I saw the news this morning :)
