I think I've forgotten how to write.

  • 1
There's no way that you ever could. But, I can't say that I don't know the feeling.

It's there; it's always there.

Me too. :(
but personally, I think it's all about the right inspiration and creating a setting for yourself... something that I don't have the time to do lately. crazy, hectic, distracting RL. grrrrr.
Hopefully you have some luck soon though, hon! *hugs*

I feel like that sometimes. Now in fact. Good luck breaking through the Block.

No way... I don't believe it for a second. I do believe that you're tired and that your head is in a different space right now, but this too will pass. Give it some time. You can't expect everything from yourself, but I think all too often, we mom's do that anyway...

I both know how this feels and know how important it is to you to feel able to.

I hate starting these replies, 'Well I...' but well... I feel like I only remember how to write when I get those sudden flashes of "OMG GOT to write this down..." and so often RL with small children, and jobs and husbands and whatever doesn't provide the environment you need for that.

I went through a period recently when I could write nothing at all. That seems to be getting better, kind of.

I've taken to squirrelling away notepads all over the house!!

I hope you feel better about this soon. I've no doubt you will.

And if your latest fics are anything to go by, you really haven't forgotten how to, you know *g*

*loves you*

Oh, God, do I know the feeling! Every time I think the weekly prompt from tamingthemuse has sparked something in my head, I sit down to write it and get maybe a paragraph out and hit a wall. *growls in frustration*

I so understand how you feel. There are very few things that are so completely frustrating as sitting there, staring at the keyboard, and just willing for SOMETHING to come. I went through this recently, and let me tell you...It was awful! It literally felt like I was ripping the words out from my gut one at a time. It was brutal. So...know that we're here for you. If you ever need to bounce ideas around or just vent, we understand. I doubt that you could have forgotten how to do it, you're too wonderful for that! And whatever you come up with (eventually!) will be fantastic, I just know it.

Hang in there! (hugs)

Your ability to write is still there - but it's buried under other things at the moment. It will return. Undoubtedly.

Awww hun, I think it's safe to say that we all go through this at some point. Not that that makes it any less aggravating, but knowing someone can relate always helps. Hope something breaks soon. (((hugs)))

I forgot a long time ago, don't feel bad. *g*

But your latest drabble was phenomenal, so have no fear. I'm sure it's hard to adjust your mind to writing in bits and pieces now, but I have total faith in your ability.

*hugs you*

If it helps, I think we all "forget" at one point or other. Or, at the very least, we lose the spark of inspiration that allows us to write something that we think will be interesting.
