wednesday smiles
My smiles:

1. You guys. Seriously. ♥

2.  I get to meet bertie456 soon!  :D  (Bertie, if you see this, I just txted you using the number you sent me via Twitter DM.)

3.  M. rolled from her tummy to her back a few days ago. \o/

4.  Last night was a bad night, but M. is now sometimes giving us 9:00 - 3:00, 4:00, 5:00 or even 6:00(!) nights!  Hallefuckinglujah!!!

I mostly post fannish things in this journal, but I think it's easy to forget that there is a real person behind the fic and the Bones commentary. Same goes for other people, of course. So I'd like to take a minute to acknowledge our humanity.

If you'd like to do so, please tell me something that made you smile this week, no matter how small. Could be the snuggle your dog gave you on Monday, the song you discovered on Tuesday, or the way your significant other smiled at you today. I've been posting these since last December. If you feel up to it, please respond—here, in your own journal, or elsewhere. Feel free to post more than one thing and/or respond to other comments.

Why am I doing this? Because I think it is far too easy to get caught up in the stresses, big and small, that we all experience. Being able to focus on one positive thing, however small, can give one a valuable sense of perspective.

Why Wednesday? I figure a little mid-week cheer can't hurt. :)

Oh WOW! That's awesome sleeping when you can get it! :D Great news, hon! *pats Baby M*

Things have been hectic around here but overall pretty good - it's interesting the ways you can find to entertain when you have little to no money. We've been having to be creative and rely on playdates and the zoo (and cooking in!) more often. Fun times!

Also very much looking forward to visiting with bertie456 very soon! T-8 days! :D

It is Canada Day! :-) So although I am supposed to be at work, I am in fact not, and will still get paid for it. Being under-employed :-( this makes me happy.

We are moving! :-) Again! :-( To a slightly bigger place :-) for slightly less rent :-) But we have to pack and move ourselves this time - no muscley young men to do it all for us :-(

We have a month to do it in :-) Which means we can take our time. :-) But means we will probably waste most of the month moving AND have to pay rent in both places :-(

Okay, now I've confused myself, but I *think* this ended up :-) more often than :-( !!

M. turned over? I LOVED that moment - when they lie there blinking in shock and say, "Where the heck did that toy go? And why is the floor suddenly so far away?"

Creeping comes next (before crawling), and before you know it, she'll be up, up and away...

Happy Canada day :) (1867?)

Yes! You get the prize. (Most Canadians don't know that.) We were in Quebec City last year during their 400th celebration, though (we were practically drowned in the rain storms!)

There is a prize! I bet it's a big bottle of maple syrup ;)

Of course it rained during the Quebec celebrations, it often does on such occasions. New York's 400 birthday is coming up, clouds must be gathering...

I got caught in the rain on my way to work today, no jacket, no umbrella :(

Tummy to back! Go M! More sleep! YAY!

I am smiling because my 7-year-old son is a snuggler who would rather sit and lean against us than go to bed or sit alone.

I am smiling because my daughter can make friends well and has chosen friends who stick up for her.

I am smiling because my daughter is teaching herself to SWIM.

I am smiling because I wrote--and finished--and REVISED my first long story with an acutal plot (it's S&MK) and I LIKE it.

I'm also smiling because we're making sushi tomorrow, because last week's smiles generated a GREAT chat here with folks I hadn't met before, because I got some laundry folded last night, because I got a SURVEY asking my opinion from a local politician, because my kids are SO SO VERY well-behaved, because the weather is freaking GORGEOUS (it's been 65-75 the past 2 days and is supposed to hold on like this or 3-5 more days) so our house is OPEN, because it's summer break and I can be here to ENJOY it and RELAX.

My smile? You and your icon.

Hugs to you.

i've stopped throwing up (i had a virus)

rewatching bones.

Oy! Hope you're feeling completely normal now. Sorry to hear you were sick. :(

I managed to leave work on time today, almost :)

Less than 300 emails in my work inbox :)

Two more crazy days and then I'm on leave :)

Yay for longer-sleeping baby!!!!!!

My smiles:

1. Freedom from work
2. My sweet-natured, loving son :)
3. My strong-willed, confident daughter
4. The MJ ♥ I see and hear all around me every day
5. My f-list meeting up - I will have met you all by proxy by the time bertie456 is done with you!!

I will have met you all by proxy by the time bertie456 is done with you!!

Seriously! It's sort of mind boggling...

Yay for M rolling from tummy to back! And sleeping too! woot!

*My amazingly supportive flist/tweeps.

*Bad!fic for keeping me waaay amused.

*Meeting Lady Antebellum again on Saturday :)

YAY for more sleep and rolling over!

Hmmm...my smiles...

1. Seeing my friends smile and knowing that they are doing well (I love that things are going so well for you, L.)

2. Fireworks and pretending I am back in the States for a day on the 4th.

3. BBQ-ing and extended sunny weather in the UK...it's been a greta summer.

4. Spending time with the family

There are so many other things to smile about, but I will stick with that for the moment. I am late to the game as usual, but Mondays are always good days for cheer!

Oooo...our Stateside list comes out next Wednesday! We'll actually have an idea where we're going next! There's another smile!

(I wish I could figure out the twitter thing...heheh.)
