Phew! Called for a key-smash!!

That is SO awesome!!!

*twirls you*

I remember the first time Sophie slept through like that, I woke up thinking she must have stopped breathing in the night! The first time Joe did it I was like, 'Wicked.' ..and went back to sleep!

I'm so pleased for you, babe! I take it the sleep training is what worked?

It's so funny how we all have the same experience. I remember the first time Jess (my oldest) did that and I woke up, sure that she had died in the night and that's why it was so quiet. Nope, just sleeping away.

So happy for you, L!!!! You must feel like a new woman! Was this a successful sleep training outcome?

Yes, the waking up thinking the baby had died thing seems to be a fairly universal mom thing. It's going to take me a while to break the habit of waking up at odd hours. I'm still sleeping TONS better than I was before -- and so are DH and M.! :D

We also started her on rice cereal, but supposedly that doesn't have any proven effect on sleep duration. The training really, really worked. I'm not saying it will work for everyone, but it worked for M., and I couldn't be more grateful. She looks rested every day now, and she's less irritable, etc. I'm a believer! Happy baby, happy parents. :) :)

Thanks for all your support and suggestions along the way, LSQ.

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but starting solids DID make a difference for my youngest. That was just one hungry kid and having something in her stomach that was slower to digest let her sleep longer and go longer between feedings, especially over night.

But I'm a great believer in sleep training and I'm thrilled that it worked for you. What method did you use?

Hahahaha Spoken like a fellow mom. :) Yes, I kept waking up needing to make sure she was still alive. *g*

Details re: what we think did it coming in another post.

Thanks for the congrats - and for listening whenever I complained about my lack of sleep. I know I did so a lot. :P

God, you're quite welcome.. and quite entitled to. We've all been there, bb *g*

ETA: WTF?! Your journal is all changied and I didn't notice when replying to your comment (it's been a long day). But you have those weird little icons.. don't they bug you?? Sorry to moan about your LJ.. it is very nice restful colours!

*g* No worries. Layouts are pretty unimportant. If you're talking about the little icon next to my mood, etc., I actually kinda like 'em.

No I like mood icons - I meant the main user icons by posts but I see they are bigger again.

(It is very plausible that they've always been big - last night I was high on paint fumes ;)

ETA: Oh, in the main thread they are still small.

SHUT UP, Kate. OK, shutting up ;)

Sleeping like a baby finally has meaning. I hope it's not just a one off! At least you know now it can be done. Snooze on.

Thank you! Yes, apparently she CAN do it at this stage, and she's done it several nights in a row. Praise someone!!! *g*

So AWESOME! And I totally agree with TT and LSQ - so how many times did you get up and check?! lol
I would have been checking every hour with A - I remember checking once on C! lol

Thanks, hon! To be honest, I lost count. *g* It's going to take some getting used to; I keep waking up at odd hours still. But it's definitely a positive change. With C. it was probably old hat for ya. :)

YAY!

Isn't it wonderful?

I remember the first time Princess I did that - I was SO confused in the morning and kinda freaked out at first.

It is FANTASTIC!

I can understand why you were confused and concerned; I was the same. :)

YAY! Go you! And Mr L. And Misha. :D :D :D

Ooh, I like your new layout. Shinyful!

Thanks, honeybun! :D Now that I'm finally getting some sleep, I'm going to pounce on SPN this wkend.

And danke re: the layout. As the haze of total exhaustion started to lift, I realized I fucking HATED that old layout. *g*

Woot! *smooches you* Welcome back, by the way. :)

hurray!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

i am so happy for you.

sleep is like oxygen - we need lots of it! :)

♥ Thank you, sweetie. It's like this huge weight has been lifted. All of us, M. most of all, needed more rest.

I can only imagine.

Did you see my latest entry -? My boyfriend cousin and his wife to be just had a new arrival - a son! Nobody (including her) knew she was pregnant!

You must be not believing it. Now she'll realize that sleeping is awesome.

:)

That's about right. :D We were STUNNED.

It's a miracle when they finally slepp through the night, isn't it? here's to more of the same.

Hallelujah! *g* Thank you!!!

Great news for you! Hope it keeps happening. :)

Thanks on both counts, Lev. :D We are over the moon.
