My smile:
I was reading to M. just a few minutes ago; she decided she wanted to lick the books. You know what they say about the taste of words. *g*
Be well, and smile early and often.
I mostly post fannish things in this journal, but I think it's easy to forget that there is a real person behind the fic and the Bones commentary. Same goes for other people, of course. So I'd like to take a minute to acknowledge our humanity.
If you'd like to do so, please tell me something that made you smile this week, no matter how small. Could be the snuggle your dog gave you on Monday, the song you discovered on Tuesday, or the way your significant other smiled at you today. I've been posting these since December 2007. If you feel up to it, please respond—here, in your own journal, or elsewhere. Feel free to post more than one thing and/or respond to other comments.
Why am I doing this? Because I think it is far too easy to get caught up in the stresses, big and small, that we all experience. Being able to focus on one positive thing, however small, can give one a valuable sense of perspective.
Why Wednesday? I figure a little mid-week cheer can't hurt. :)
- wednesday smiles
1) I've been looking through some old pictures and getting sappy over everything.
2) That books icon. Love!
*smishes both of you*
Uh, on a less savoury note, my smile is the epic (Wincest) fangirling that's been happening for the last week or so. Yay visiting fangirls. :D
2. I'm cautiously getting back on the dating scene and possibly have a date this weekend
3. been called beautiful more times than I can count in the last 3 days than I can ever remember...big self esteem boost
Also, I'm going out to dinner tonight and I don't have to pay because my friend lost a bet muahahaha.
Top Chef tonight and two fellow Marylanders are on there so it makes me smile.
1. I have left work ON TIME every day this week - and last week, too! (You don't know my job - this is truly astounding)
2. Every Tuesday when I get home from work, there's a mini-marathon of Bones on TBS. Five episodes! And yes I have the DVDs, but it's so much more FUN this way.
3. Fall is most definitely in the air - crisp and dry, with lovely blue skies.
Hope you are having good things in your world, too!
I'm SO happy!
Oh, and also, I met with the other freshman teachers and we figured out a KICKASS-awesome course of study for this year that I think is fatanstic!

That's really exciting! I was back in China a few years ago and it was surprising how well some people's spoken English was! If you don't mind me asking, what part of China is she from?
2. The new Michael Buble song "Haven't Met You Yet".
and
3. The fact that I actually managed to reply to one of your Wednesday smiles on an actual Wednesday. I've been horrid lately at keeping up with my f-list :(.
:).
I called my friend overseas for the first time in months, and I was excited over hearing all about her pregnancy. It was so lovely!
One of my chara's found her own awesomeness this week. That made me smile. Oh! And Oscar, my 17mth old god-son, said what we totally reckon was my name, for the first time.
Your daughter has excellent taste. I approve.
Also, I cooked salmon with these little baked / roasted potatos and they were scrummy :)
1. The return of Bones and other fabulous fall shows is imminent! THIS MONTH, people! :)
2. I've been sucked into a new fandom and am all fangirly/squealy about it! Can't stop reading fic, it's getting ridiculous ;)
3. College is creeping steadily closer up on me. I have about 3 weeks before move-in day. :)
I have been playing word games with a good friend on line - swapping spur of the moments limericks and bad poetry.
I am almost finished with a painting to send to a great friend on-line.
School not sucking. Seeing friends I missed over the summer. Applying the technical skills I'm learning at school on personal projects and having a blast doing it. Feeling like a star.
