Wednesday Smiles
I mostly post fannish things in this journal, but I think it's easy to forget that there is a real person behind the fic and the Bones commentary. Same goes for other people, of course. So I'd like to take a minute to acknowledge our humanity.

If you'd like to do so, please tell me something that made you smile this week, no matter how small. Could be the snuggle your dog gave you on Monday, the song you discovered on Tuesday, or the way your significant other smiled at you today. I've been posting these since December 2007. If you feel up to it, please respond—here, in your own journal, or elsewhere. Feel free to post more than one thing and/or respond to other comments.

Why am I doing this? Because I think it is far too easy to get caught up in the stresses, big and small, that we all experience. Being able to focus on one positive thing, however small, can give one a valuable sense of perspective.

Why Wednesday? I figure a little mid-week cheer can't hurt. :)

my smile is for Tony. he's the online college rep I spoke with for about an hour who walked me through the process of applying to college again. He was so nice...even tho at times I wanted to be like, "yeah! I know how to do that!"

♥ Tomorrow, after I sit through a lovely two hours of writing responses to essay questions for my last final, I get to go home and start on winter break! No homework, no classes, just me and my family and friends and relaxation. It's going to be wonderful! Plus, I'm looking forward to eating real food again ;)

♥ Christmas is coming! And hopefully snow. I have my fingers crossed :)

♥ I'm also looking forward to staring at my Christmas tree all lit up - we put it up at Thanksgiving, but I haven't been home since to be able to see it again, and I love the way it makes me feel looking at it all lit up at night while I'm all cozy on the couch. The Christmas spirit is a wonderful thing.

♥ I've been doing more writing lately. Granted, I have probably about (at least) 300 words each on about 7 different stories, but I'm writing!

I finished my Yuletide story today! Accomplishment is a good feeling. :)

almost no homework

the perfect christmas tree

your lovely lj gift, thank you oh so much!!! =)

and BONES OMG BONES HOLY MOTHER OF GOD. that was great. heh. booth.

I am profoundly happy to be finished with a gruesome semester! My last task is to double-check the math on final grades, post 'em to the Intranet, and I'm done!!

I'm also -as always - grateful that you take the time to ask us to do this. It makes Wednesdays - and your friendship (albeit online) - more special.

But, what made you smile? Anything? :-(

- for friends who sent me (virtual) snowflake cookies (thanks lerdo and tempertemper!)
- for Christmas concerts sold-out and awesome!
- for everyone home for the holidays!
- for NO SNOW!

And YOUR smile? :)

I asked for two days off next week and they said yes. :D
