Wednesday Smiles
My smile:  It's been rainy today, but spring has sprung. :)

Please tell me what's made you happy or grateful lately. ♥ The world can always use a little more sunshine. I see a lot of you lurking here; don't be shy. Feel free to share something, even if you never pipe up again. :)

I mostly post fannish things in this journal, but I think it's easy to forget that there is a real person behind the fic and the Bones commentary. Same goes for other people, of course. So I'd like to take a minute to acknowledge our humanity.

If you'd like to do so, please tell me something that made you smile this week, no matter how small. Could be the snuggle your dog gave you on Monday, the song you discovered on Tuesday, or the way your significant other smiled at you today. I've been posting these since December 2007. If you feel up to it, please respond—here, in your own journal, or elsewhere. Feel free to post more than one thing and/or respond to other comments.

Why am I doing this? Because I think it is far too easy to get caught up in the stresses, big and small, that we all experience. Being able to focus on one positive thing, however small, can give one a valuable sense of perspective.

Why Wednesday? I figure a little mid-week cheer can't hurt. :)

1) Adam Lambert has started announcing tour dates! I am so excited for him to (hopefully) come here so I can see him in concert (otherwise I am probably buying plane tickets, omg). Plus, he's bringing Allison Iraheta with him as one of his opening acts, which will be awesome :)

(Also, he has recently officially become the first openly gay artist to have a Top 10 song from a debut album. So proud of and happy for him! ♥)

2) I've been watching Criminal Minds from the beginning lately, and I'm loving that show. It's creepy, yes, and sometimes I do have to turn down the volume when it shows a scene with the victim(s) (because I really really hate hearing people screaming/whimpering/etc in fear/pain/whatever), but it fascinates me and the characters are like their own family which is fun.

3) Out of my two exams this week, the first one was absurdly easy and the second one was definitely not as hard as I thought it would be.

Also, re: spring (yay!) - I think tomorrow is Earth Day, so your wednesday smile is very fitting :)

unexpected penpal letter. I used to get a letter every week, then suddenly I got 2 letters in 12 days and it made me worry. Now I've gotten 3 letters in a matter of 1 week. I could get used to that lol

I finally started gardening today. Which made the whole of me feel better.

seeing this post!!

college visits which were very inspiring and motivating. =)

Three weeks left till the semester ends: always makes me smile.

Also: thanks for reminding me to focus on the positive!

I am grateful the ash over Europe is clearing up. Even though that meant I had to watch my best friend board a plane that will take her to Sweden for the next twelve months, I am so happy she gets to have this experience.

And I'm happy you reminded me to look on the positive side today. I needed the attitude pick-me-up. Thanks!

Here's what I'm happy about at the moment: friends, fanfic, tv funtimes, lulzy coworkers, learning to say goodbye to drama & crazy relationships, and a new Bones episode tomorrow night!

My boyfriend got back work working away - I thought he might be very delayed after the volcano ash!!

Bones made me smile too!! ♥

It's Thursday, but I DON'T CARE.

(1) My internship is paying me this week for covering one of the assistant's desks! Moneyyy.

(2) After two months, I have not lost all sense and become a total Southern Californian. They believe 'sprinkling' equals 'downpour.' I pulled out and umbrella and rolled my eyes.

(3) Lost was awesome this week.

- Seeing you post again. :) We missed you!! How are you and M. doing?

- My first week at work after my long sick leave is going quite well, I thought I wouldn't survive the first few days. :)

- A guy from our department, left the company about 5 years ago to produce porn movies and now he's back. We've been making jokes about him all week. He's nice, but still...

Have a nice week babe.

::kisses and hugs::

I've finally accepted that I need to think about looking for a new job, after 2 years at the same place and 6 months of feeling frustrated/bored/undervalued/underpaid.

No more panicking about the potentially massive change, and this evening I actually started to update my CV. Instead of feeling like throwing up, I feel like a weight has been lifted and I can finally breath again.
