Our first selection is: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak , with 4 votes. I read it a few months ago and was totally blown away by it; I'm excited to reread it, and I hope all of you who plan to participate will find something interesting and/or enjoyable in it as well. :) Re: timing, I know Thanksgiving, NaNoWriMo, and NaBloPoMo are coming up, and then there's Hanukkah, Christmas, etc. The ever-so-lovely spacekid77 suggested an early December deadline so we don't hit the holiday crush. How does December 13th sound as a start date for discussion of the book? Or is an earlier or later date better for many of you? You can respond to to this post. Now that the book's been picked, please humor me one last time and drop me a line on this post to confirm your interest in reading and discussing The Book Thief . When we discuss the book, I'm going to lock and filter that post(s?) in order to give everyone privacy. You never know if personal topics will come up in the course of a book discussion, and I want people to feel comfortable speaking freely. I will post unlocked , unfiltered reminders for future books so that people who didn't join in this time will still have the option to join in with future books. (Assuming this goes well. ) *g* Whew. Hope that all made sense. Let me know if you have ANY questions or concerns, and happy reading, friends!
