Wednesday Smiles
If you have it in you to do so, please tell me what's made you happy or grateful lately. The world can always use a little more sunshine.(If it can't I definitely can!) I see some ppl lurking here; don't be shy. Feel free to share something, even if you never pipe up again. :)

I mostly post fannish things in this journal, but I think it's easy to forget that there is a real person behind the fic and the Bones commentary. Same goes for other people, of course. So I'd like to take a minute to acknowledge our humanity.

If you'd like to do so, please tell me something that made you smile this week, no matter how small. Could be the snuggle your dog gave you on Monday, the song you discovered on Tuesday, or the way your significant other smiled at you today. I've been posting these since December 2007. If you feel up to it, please respond—here, in your own journal, or elsewhere. Feel free to post more than one thing and/or respond to other comments.

Why am I doing this? Because I think it is far too easy to get caught up in the stresses, big and small, that we all experience. Being able to focus on one positive thing, however small, can give one a valuable sense of perspective.

Why Wednesday? I figure a little mid-week cheer can't hurt. :)

The sun is out today. It's still cold and there's snow on the ground, but the sun is out. It makes me smile.

Sunlight's such a mood-lifter. :)

Lots has made me smile this week: no work on Monday, my coworkers and their jokes... but the thing that stands out is that last night I was talking to my BF on the phone and he entered into this prolonged metaphor where he theorized that I was actually an international spy who was using him as a cover for my fake identity. ;D

I'm not sure he's wrong. *g*

Our daffs are nearly out again - way too early and shorter even than last year!!

Oh not even a leaf here. That's a good month away. We never have them in time for St David's Day.

Flowers make everything better. ♥

It's Wednesday?! Having one of those weird weeks out of work where the days meld into one.

As you know, it was my b-day yesterday so I am full of smiles for how lovely my dh and kiddies were, making me feel so loved =)

ETA: And have been wearing a perma-grin because of everyone at the BGA. Floored by the post they made for me! Just overwhelmed!

Hope you're enjoying your time off from work. I know what you mean about the days getting all smushed together so you can't tell them apart.

You deserve lots of love; I'm happy you got so much this week. ♥

When I woke up today, the tress were covered in a fine layer of ice and the sun was shining, making everything sparkle. Very pretty.

Ooooh, I know exactly what you're talking about. It's beautiful. I'm not a fan of the cold, but that sight makes one want to wax poetic about winter wonderlands, etc. :)

for the most part I'm adult (still live at home so I feel like a kid), and well I don't have my drivers license. I have my permit, but it expires at the end of April...my dad finally got the "good" car working enough so that my mom and I could use it so the other day I drove. not around an empty parking lot, but from home to the bank and back. I was so nervous but it was fun and I looked like a little old lady behind the steering wheel.

btw, driving is my Wednesday smile...and buying seasons 1 & 2 of Bones from target on Tuesday

It was my BF's birthday on Tuesday and her husband cooked a very special supper for her. I was invited along with another close friend. We were sitting outside on the patio having a glass of wine and watching the sun set, when one of her 70kg German Shepherds every so quietly and gently, without fanfare, fuss or warning, stepped onto the bench seat next to me and then smoothly up onto the table, sending wine glasses and tablewear flying. We were all so gobsmacked we just sat there in shock, and then started laughing and couldn't stop. Daisy (the dog) just sat there with her bum in the dip and looked down at us happily, and then just as unceremoniously picked her way through the debris and climbed down again. It was surreal. It will make me smile for a very long time.

Happy Wednesday Smile (is it still Wednesday where you are?)

I came home this afternoon to find my mom (who is petrified of strange dogs) feeding a tiny stray puppy who looked like Dobby from HP would if Dobby had been a dog. He even had the ears!

After 22 years of interference and frustration and abuse and fear:
