My smiles:
1) Kid giggles -- children know how to laugh -- really laugh -- especially when they're being tickled.
2) From Season 4 of Arrested Development: "Hello, darkness, my old friend" playing in the background as GOB gazes off into the distance.
Miss you all like crazy. <3 (It's been so long since I've posted regularly on LJ that I can't remember the code for a heart!)
If you have it in you to do so, please tell me what's made you happy or grateful lately. The world can always use a little more sunshine.(If it can't I definitely can!) I see some ppl lurking here; don't be shy. Feel free to share something, even if you never pipe up again. :)
If you'd like to do so, please tell me something that made you smile this week, no matter how small. Could be the snuggle your dog gave you on Monday, the song you discovered on Tuesday, or the way your significant other smiled at you today. I've been posting these since December 2007. If you feel up to it, please respond—here, in your own journal, or elsewhere. Feel free to post more than one thing and/or respond to other comments.
Why am I doing this? Because I think it is far too easy to get caught up in the stresses, big and small, that we all experience. Being able to focus on one positive thing, however small, can give one a valuable sense of perspective.
Why Wednesday? I figure a little mid-week cheer can't hurt. :)
Congrats on the new puppy!
Flowers and friends are definitely smile-worthy. How was the dinner?
I've been occupied with school, which is going well, and my health, which has been going less well. But I saw a new doctor today & started two new medications, and so my smile today is that I'm feeling hopeful they may help. Fingers crossed!
Rach, I've thought of you -- and popped into your journal very sporadically. I have my fingers crossed for you. Always. School? Man, I have been away too long. COngrats on being back in school! That's awesome. As for your health, I hope that just continues to get easier and better. I hate that you've suffered so much. *hugs*
I thought the final ep felt a little abrupt at the end, honestly, and my mind was kind of reeling from all the threads coming together. But overall I still really enjoyed the season as a whole. What did you think?
And thanks. *hugs you back*
I'm spending some time with a dear friend this weekend, one that I haven't been able to have some good one on one time in a while. So I'm excited and looking forward to that.
How was your wkend with your friend? I hope it was as wonderful as you'd expected it would be. :)
My weekend was wonderful. Filled with farmer's market, adventures, stamping, good food, good friends, good movies. Just what I needed.
<3.
Let's see... Yesterday as well as last Saturday we had barbecues at the beach. It's been lovely, taking some time just to relax each week.
Also, kid giggles are the absolute best thing in the world. Condensed joy.
Oh, I'm jealous of your beach BBQs. They sound delightful.
"Condensed joy." YES. That is it exactly. *files it away*
