Wednesday Smiles
If you have it in you to do so, please tell me what's made you happy or grateful lately. The world can always use a little more sunshine.(If it can't I definitely can!) I see some ppl lurking here; don't be shy. Feel free to share something, even if you never pipe up again. :)

I mostly post fannish things in this journal, but I think it's easy to forget that there is a real person behind the fic and the Bones commentary. Same goes for other people, of course. So I'd like to take a minute to acknowledge our humanity.

If you'd like to do so, please tell me something that made you smile this week, no matter how small. Could be the snuggle your dog gave you on Monday, the song you discovered on Tuesday, or the way your significant other smiled at you today. I've been posting these since December 2007. If you feel up to it, please respond—here, in your own journal, or elsewhere. Feel free to post more than one thing and/or respond to other comments.

Why am I doing this? Because I think it is far too easy to get caught up in the stresses, big and small, that we all experience. Being able to focus on one positive thing, however small, can give one a valuable sense of perspective.

Why Wednesday? I figure a little mid-week cheer can't hurt. :)

Hey hon!! Hope you and yours are well! <3

My smile today was dancing with my son in the kitchen to the "Happy" song! :D

Hi, Space. :) Wonderful to see you, my dear. I'm OK -- usual ups and downs of life, but better to be alive than dead, right?

Awww... I love that song! What a great smile. <3 How old is C now, anyway?

*hugs* I think we're all dealing with some of that right now, but yes, while I might like to change a few things, i'm just happy to be here. <3

C is 6 1/2 going on 5... we're still dealing with delays in his development and learning which makes homeschooling both a blessing and a challenge. But when the day goes well and you can see that he's learning, it's all worthwhile!

Nothing to ground breaking going on for me right now (well, we're starting book #5, but it's WAY too early to get excited about that). So how about a pic of rescue kitty soaking up a sunbeam? :)

Starting your 5th book, or ANY book, really, definitely counts. Also: rescue kitty is purrfect. <3

During this very, very, gray and snowy winter, I'm grateful for a day of sunshine, no additional snow and YOU!!!!

Thanks for re-starting this. How're you doing? How is your beautiful daughter?

ETA: Whoops, I meant for this to be a comment to the post itself, not your comment! Sorry about that, heh.

I'm grateful to see you around again! And for the great new book I'm reading ("Intuitive Eating"), which is totally changing how I deal with food & weight issues.

Thanks, R. I appreciate the thought! You know, I have heard really wonderful things about IE, though I have not read it myself. Have heard it can truly be life-altering for people and their relationships to food. So glad it's working for you. <3

Hello again! Lovely to see you, sweetheart. *hugs to you, too*

Oh, sunshine and NO SNOW work for me. :)

My daughters are the greatest joys of my life. Thank you for asking. M will be 5 next Monday, and S turned 2 yesterday. Hard to believe M will begin kindergarten in the fall. o_O

How are you, your daughter, and your DH doing?

Oh, PJ, hope your cat is recuperating well. *hugs*

I am happy that it's finally warming up. I am so tired of all the snow and ice.

I am SO with you. We had some 50s temps here over the weekend, but the cold is back. It also snowed earlier today, but nothing much stuck. Hang in there, R.

What's making me smile? Olympics, of course and the fact that Canada is in both the men's and women's curling finals. :)

I did think about you when I read somewhere that curling is a very polite sport, must be the reason why curling is so big in Canada ;) As generalisations/prejudice go, that Canadians are very polite is a nice one :)

We Canadians take our politeness very seriously :) As sports go, curling is one of the last true "gentleman's" sport. You are still expected to call your own "fouls" eg. When a sweeper touches the rock with her broom it is considered to be "burnt" and it is the opponent's choice whether it is removed from play. It is the sweeper who is supposed to tell on herself and most still do.

All wonderful reasons to smile. Thank you for sharing!

Hey you!

My Wednesday smile was catching myself almost putting a tea mug (with tea still in it) in my purse as I was gathering my things after a busy day at the office :)

I'm so happy to see you, lovely woman. Your smile made me laugh, so thank you for that. Sounds like you had a pretty packed day.

I hope you and yours have been well and happy lately! Nice to see you around here again ♥

My smile for this week is that Wednesday was my birthday, and I was utterly spoiled by my friends and parents and thus have ended up with lots of sweet things to eat along with some nice presents, and all of that really brightened up my week so it's been a fairly calm/quiet but lovely week.

Thanks, L. It's nice to see you again, as well. *hugs* Are you still loving Teen Wolf?

Happy (belated) Birthday! It sounds like you had a terrific day; that's awesome. I envy you the sweet treats; I have a tremendous sweet tooth. ;)

I am still loving Teen Wolf, though they have over hiatus recently proven that they really suck at knowing their own show (timeline, continuity, oy.) so while it's always entertaining and they haven't yet completely messed up their own canon within the show, I don't completely trust them anymore lol. (That's what happens when, for example, they do something that indicates that they don't even know what year their show is set in and put two deaths that happened probably within a month of each other, in the summer, in different years. I just can't understand how you don't know things that basic about your own show lol.)

Thanks! I have a huge sweet tooth as well so they were perfect gifts for me ;)
