Wednesday Smiles
I mostly post fannish things in this journal, but I think it's easy to forget that there is a real person behind the fic and the squeeing over Bones.  Same goes for other people, of course.   So I'd like to take a minute to acknowledge our humanity.

Please tell me something that made you smile this week, no matter how small.  Could be the excellent latte you had on Monday, the song you discovered on Tuesday, or the way your significant other smiled at you today.  I'm going to try to post this every Wednesday for myself, and if you feel up to it, please respond—here, in your own journal, or elsewhere.   Feel free to post more than one thing and/or respond to other comments.

Why am I doing this?  Because I think it is far too easy to get caught up in the stresses, big and small, that we all experience.   Being able to focus on one positive thing, however small, can give one a valuable sense of perspective.

Why Wednesday?  I figure a little mid-week cheer can't hurt.  :)

If you feel weird about doing this in public, please comment anonymously.  I'm setting this entry to screen anon comments; I won't unscreen any anon comments unless you give me permission.  And please feel free to comment even if we're not "friends."

I'll be back with my response.

I got a call back for a much needed new job interview. The monthly pay is about 5x what I make now!

Congratulations! That's awesome. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. :)

Thanks! I found out that other than the pay being better, there are all kind of benefits the job offers...I haven't seen anything like that since before my mom was laid off from work and that was nearly 6 years ago

Sorry to be a random but I really hope you get that job! I just noticed your comment, being the first, and I'm just... crossing my fingers for you! 5x high pay means you're either getting NOTHING now or you'd be getting PILES if you got the job. Either way, I want you to get it! PROVE THERE IS A GOD!!!

Thank you. I'm making below min wage (according to the State of CA) so the increase would bring me to what I SHOULD be making.

I only have one mid-term left then 3 day weekend for me!

That IS something to be happy about. *g* Enjoy your wkend!

This week is being specially hard for me, work, RL... But I still have my friends. One of them is so in love with Maddie Hayes and David Addison lately that I love to hear her talking about it. She's discovering 'Moonlighting' now and is so cute that she makes my day when she tells me. Definitely pulls a smile from me.

I hope your week gets better. *hugs* How cute that your friend is now discovering one of your fave shows. :)

I'm having an amazingly stressful time recently - work, relationship, other things - and I've been feeling really out-of-sorts. But right before I got ready to leave for work this morning, I laid down on my bed with my head on manly's rump and girly curled up behind my knees and for those few moments, curled up with my two best friends, everything was right with the world.

My dogs forgive anger in me, the arrogance in me, the brute in me. They forgive everything I do before I forgive myself.

Unconditional love is a beautiful thing.

I'm sorry you're having a tough week; hope things improve soon. *hugs*

we just started playing pirates of the caribbean at our accordion ensemble its very cool and we got a new member too!
that was best :D

I didn't smile but breathed a big sigh of relief (maybe an internal smile) when I finally got back on track and out of debt!!Being unburdened totally rocks!!

Oh, that's great news. I know that's got to be a huge weight off your back. Congrats! :)

I had a blue raspberry ICEE today. It made me smile. :)

I just finished IMing Aaron, First time I've spoken with him since he went back to collage on Sunday.

three things made me smile:

I learned that I passed my mammogram.
I wore my favorite (new) sweater and I LOVE it.
It was a gorgeous - gorgeous - day.

Um. Wednesday. What the hell happened on Wednesday? Oh, oh! I swam 5 laps of the Newport pool when I haven't been swimming in YEARS. Like, literally years. Which is weird, considering I live 3 minutes away from 2 beaches. And I wasn't all stiff today. Tired but not stiff.
And I cooked my own dinner! I know, that sounds silly, but it was a proper cook chicken, chop up a bunch of vegies, cook them, chuck all into oven, bake... actually real dinner type arrangement. Usually the best I can do is assembling a pizza or cooking pasta.
