Wednesday Smiles
L'ecrivez
only_more_love
I mostly post fannish things in this journal, but I think it's easy to forget that there is a real person behind the fic and the squeeing over Bones.  Same goes for other people, of course.   So I'd like to take a minute to acknowledge our humanity.

Please tell me something that made you smile this week, no matter how small.  Could be the excellent latte you had on Monday, the song you discovered on Tuesday, or the way your significant other smiled at you today.  I'm going to try to post this every Wednesday for myself, and if you feel up to it, please respond—here, in your own journal, or elsewhere.   Feel free to post more than one thing and/or respond to other comments.

Why am I doing this?  Because I think it is far too easy to get caught up in the stresses, big and small, that we all experience.   Being able to focus on one positive thing, however small, can give one a valuable sense of perspective.

Why Wednesday?  I figure a little mid-week cheer can't hurt.  :)

If you feel weird about doing this in public, please comment anonymously.  I'm setting this entry to screen anon comments; I won't unscreen any anon comments unless you give me permission.  And please feel free to comment even if we're not "friends."

I'll be back with my response.

P.S.
I don't always get a chance to respond to all your smiles, but I read every single one.  They all leave me feeling a little bit lighter than I did before.  So thank you!  I hope you're all having a good week, my friends, and if you're not, I hope it improves.

1. I performed my civic duty and voted in the primary.
2. Obama won Maryland--and DC and Virginia. :)
3. My mother laughed--really laughed--after a long time.

*points to icon*

That pretty much says it all for me right now...

*smiles and hugs you and your icon*

1. Joe is feeling better about his broken arm (so much so he is bouncing on the offending sofa again - argh!)
2. It is my best friend's birthday on friday, so I get to go present shopping.
3. We are having brilliant sunshine and high temps in the UK. Shiny happy weather.

x

1. Striking fresh fear into your maternal heart, no doubt. *g*
2. Have fun shopping!
3. Yay for you! Enjoy. Here we are having rain, ice, and cold. Brr... (Oh, and headaches.) :P

I am happy for the end of the writers' strike. Not just because it means we'll all get our favorite shows back, eventually, but because I know a couple of people who work in the business, and I am glad to know that they can get back to doing the work they really love. Hooray!

It's good news for many reasons, for many people. Definitely something to smile about. :)

My SO and I woke up way too early this morning -- 5:30 --and wound up just hanging in bed, laughing and talking and laughing some more. And then I made a heavenly pot of coffee. Some days it's the little things, like this lovely invitation of yours to share.

Happy Wednesday, sweets.

Now that sounds like a lovely way for both of you to spend the extra time you got this morning. :)

And yes, some days it is the little things.

Happy Wednesday, sweets.

*hugs you* Thanks. You too.

BTW, your icon is perfect.

It's the end *dances* of the writer's strike! And Carlton Cuse has promised me more episodes of Lost!

1. After a *hard* visit to the dentist (braces in your 30's is NOT easy, even if it's not a esthetic matter, think it twice!!) my niece got so happy to see me that I only could smile and forget teeth pain.

2. Yesterday it was a workmate and friend's birthday and we went lunch and celebrate.

3. I'm going to the movies right now, I may fall asleep because I'm exhausted, but life is not only working. ;)

Kisses.

Finally, I've finished at the first part of a difficult and long project. My French project manager has said ‘It’s ok’. Oh-my-god, it’s a miracle ;)

Besos

I am at home! True, it because there's an ice storm and route 10 was flooded, but not at work is not at work.

1. Writer's strike is over and we will soon get Bones back!
2. It has been snowing and I didn't have school today or yesterday and I hoping tomorrow that I will have off!
3. I don't have school Friday or Monday because of Mid- Winter Break

Today was beautiful and sunny. A big psychological upper, since we've probably had 2+ feet of snow in the past week or two (and expecting more on Friday). But sunshine in between just makes everything... pretty :)
